When I was thinking of a clock idea I wanted to make something original not what everyone else was going to make. My first thought was to make a plane with a clock as it's propeller. I liked the concept so I got to work on illustrator making the base of the plane body. I made all the peaces so they would fit together and glued in place.
After designing the base of the plane I hopped on the laser to cut it out. I had some problems with the laser power settings because the glass that the laser passes through was dirty so it would not cut through all the way.
After the 3D printing was all done I needed to use one more peace of equipment and needed number to put on my clock. I chose the vinyl cutter to cutout the numbers for my clock face. As it always dose, I created a simple design in illustrator then cut it out.
After a small amount of Assembly I was done. during this project I learned that sometimes things that look easy to do are so far out of my skill zone. For example I spent a full class designing a plane in invent that turned out so bad that it wasn't worth printing. I think the big take away from this project was don't try something you cant accomplish if you are on a time scale.
